Layout and Quote Guidelines

FOR QUOTING A BOARD LAYOUT: Your request may be accompanied by a non-disclosure agreement, or a confidential information transmittal record, if necessary. Include as much of the following data as possible. Remember that the quotation is only as accurate or complete as the input data provided

MECHANICAL DESCRIPTION OF BOARD: usually a drawing(PDF) or sketch, showing size, restricted areas, required features, and any compulsory component locations. (IDF and/or DXF file preferred)
BILL OF MATERIALS: This includes industry standard package size identification for all parts.
ELECTRICAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS: General function, circuit speed and type of layout rules anticipated. Ask us about our spreadsheet which can help you with the final layout rules.
PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS: Identify the method of testing finished product, any applicable regulatory of manufacturing specification, and any unusual environmental considerations.
DELIVERABLE ITEMS: List all special outputs needed from the layout process other than those standard to drive fabrication and assembly.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Anticipated start date, duration, and completion date required.
NETLIST: We will need a net list, unpackaged CAD schematic or packaged CAD schematic. (Cadence net list or associated board file preferred - If not, a searchable PDF of schematic is needed).

TO START BOARD LAYOUT, Include all the items above and add the following:

PART SPECIFICATIONS: A data sheet for every part type showing package dimension, pin assignments and any additional layout considerations.
SCHEMATIC: This should be complete and legible with all reference designators assigned. (searchable PDF preferred)
LAYOUT INSTRUCTIONS: Complete details of all layout requirements and concerns. Critical signals should be identified explicitly including all high speed, clock, high current or high voltage lines.
NETLIST or DRIVING SCHEMATIC: Should be in Cadence Allegro format (Concept or Capture)
